Buffalo, NY (WBEN) After a dramatic wild card round win over Jacksonville, the Buffalo Bills are off to Denver for a battle with the Broncos. The Mile High City's Bills contingent are ready to welcome fellow Mafia members.
David Goerger of the Denver Bills Backers says it will be a busy weekend. "We have a party on Friday night at our home bar, Stoney's Uptown Tavern, that's where we'll be watching the game on Saturday. For those of us who aren't going to the game, we're also linked up with a great organization that's going to be doing a tailgate at Iron Works, which is a venue less than a half mile from the stadium," explains Goerger. He expects the bar to be packed early with Buffalo food and beer specials.
He says tickets to the game are available. "They're a bit pricey. Denver obviously has a really good team this year, and everybody wants to see Josh Allen play, but we know there are a bunch of tickets available," says Goerger. He says about 15 or 20 backers are going to the game.
Goerger says this backers group formed at the start of last season. "90 and 140 people show up each week, and obviously for the playoffs, it's going to be big. Everybody comes out. Nobody wants to sit at home and watch the game. They want to be with a bunch of other crazed Bills fans," notes Goerger.
Goerger says there are fans who show up in Broncos garb at the bar, but he says Broncos fans tend to be respectful and polite. "It's more of a fun rivalry than, say, the Patriots or any other organization," adds Goerger.
Kickoff is 4:30pm Saturday.
