Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The total number of churches that have been recommended to close within the Buffalo Diocese reached 53 following a meeting in Attica on Wednesday night.
The latest round of recommendations covers churches within the Genesee/Wyoming Vicariate. The full list is below:
- St. George in West Falls
- St. Joseph in Holland
- St. Brigid in Bergen
- Resurrection in Batavia's St. Mary's site
- St. Padre Pio in Oakfield's Our Lady of Fatima worship site
- St. Maximillian Kolbe in Corfu & East Pembroke
- St. John Neumann in Strykersville
- Immaculate Heart of Mary in Darien and Bennington
- Mary Immaculate in East Bethany
- St. Isidore's St. Mary site in Silver Springs
Parishes have until July 15 to accept the recommendation or make a counter proposal.
One more meeting will take place Thursday night in Southern Erie County.
