East Aurora, N.Y. (WBEN) - Christmas is in the air in Buffalo, with East Aurora being one of the backdrops for the Hallmark Channel's "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story". The sounds of Christmas caroling brought out the Christmas spirit Tuesday night.

"The stadium element is what got me most excited," said star Matthew Daddario. "It does feel like the film is a little bit a part of Bills history."

Director Dustin Rikert says the Bills have been a great partner to work with, and they rolled out the red carpet for the film. He says the movie is paying homage to Bills fans.

"Hallmark and the Bills, they wanted this to not just be a movie. They wanted this to be a love letter to the fans, and I think it would have been disingenuous to film this any other place," said Rikert in an interview with WBEN.

Many current and former players are set to make appearances in the film, and Rikert believes people will be blown away with the acting skills of. Co-star Holland Roden referred to the players as "walkable hugs" while filming their scenes.

Both Roden and Daddario's are hoping to make a trip back to Buffalo and look to go to a Bills game in 2025.

"These are very nice people, very enthusiastic. All you have to do is yell, 'Go Bills!' and they're on your side," Daddario said.
