Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - While no one can predict who will win the race for the White House next week, a Democratic strategist is weighing in with some pre-election analysis.

Bruce Fisher is a former Deputy County Executive in Erie County. He is
currently a Senior Advisor at StrategyCorp Inc.

"I track a lot of data," Fisher told WBEN on Tuesday. "But the data that I'm mostly interested in, is not polling data, which is criticized as too partisan. But rather, voter registration and early voting patterns."

One particular thing stands out to him.

"More people who are profiled demographically as Democratic voters have registered since 2022, than people who tend to track Republican. There are a lot more young women, and women overall, and minorities who have registered democratic especially in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin," Fisher said.

On early voting, Fisher says he is not seeing a clear trend.

"Of the seven swing states there's a slight majority of participants who are Democrats, but I don't want to be misled by that," he added.

He went on to say that early voting used to be all Republicans, and then it was all Democrats. Now it's Republicans and Democrats, about 45% or 46% each.

Fisher thinks election day itself will be key.

"I'm waiting for a huge turnout on election day. We've seen the lines. It's all over the place. Urban and suburban. It's amazing," he said.

He said three swing states, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania will dictate the outcome of the election plus Arizona, Nevada and Georgia.

"You can't win Pennsylvania and lose the others. Pennsylvania is really, really important but it's not the whole story," Fisher noted.
