The Erie County Fair is known for rides, food and entertainment, but there'sanother attraction drawing plenty of attention this year: a very busy Moo-ternity Ward in the Agriculture Discovery Center.
Six calves have been born at the Fair, so far.
"Two calves were born right before the fair opened, and four since. The most recent arrival was Monday around 12:45pm," said Barry Flansburg with the Fair.
If you time it right, you can watch a delivery.
"The cows are in their individual pens. If they decide they're ready to give birth, we move them into our main pen. If it happens while the fair is open, From 11am to 10pm, you're invited to come in and watch," he said.
Flansburg called it a thrill to witness.
"I talk through the entire process. We describe what's happening and the miracle of birth is always fascinating to see no matter what age you are."
The public is also invited to take part in the calf naming contest.
"There are two kiosks near the birthing pen. There are two names on a ballot. You can pick a name for the next calf. When that next calf is born, we take the leading vote getter," he explained.
There are a lot more than cows at the fair. There are ducks that go down a slide, piglets, dwarf goats, bunnies and baby chicks as well.
