Four hospitalized following Williamsville apartment fire

Williamsville, N.Y. (WBEN) - Four people were taken to the hospital Wednesday evening following a fire at the Village Square Apartments on Main Street in Williamsville.

The injuries to all four are non-life-threatening.

Firefighters in Williamsville responded to the apartment building shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday after calls came in about a heating unit catching fire. Crews controlled the fire within 30 minutes.

Amherst Central Fire Alarm estimates damages to be around $1 million from extensive smoke and water.

Amherst Police say the cause of the fire is still being investigated but does not appear suspicious.
