Lockport, NY (WBEN) The man who has already confessed to killing two women in Buffalo as well as his grandmother has pleaded guilty to another murder, this time in Niagara County.

Richard Fox pleaded guilty to second degree murder in connection with the death of 32 year old Crystal Curthoys, formerly of Lockport, in January 2023, in Niagara Falls. Curthoys’ remains were found by Falls police in a house formerly occupied by Fox. It is believed that Curthoys was also living at that address for a time before her murder.

Earlier this year, Fox admitted to killing his own grandmother in Brant in the 1970s. Police say because of statute of limitations and the fact Fox was a juvenile at the time, Fox won't be charged.

Fox is serving 40 years to life for the murders of Marquita Mull and Cassandra Watson in Buffalo.

Niagara County DA Brian Seaman stated: “Although this defendant is already serving a life sentence, it was important to us to hold him accountable for this murder. Crystal was not just a number to be added to this defendant’s tally sheet. She was a person with a family and a life. What she would have made of the life before her will now never be known. We hope that holding this defendant accountable for her killing brings some small amount of consolation to Crystal’s family.”

Fox faces as much as 25 years to life when he returns to court to be sentenced by County Court Judge John Ottaviano. That sentence can be added to the time he is already serving.
