Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Republican delegates from across the country are heading to Milwaukee for this week's Republican National Convention. One of them is Erie County GOP leader Michael Kracker, who says the party is united.

"I think what you're seeing is a very united and energized Republican Party making its way to Milwaukee," said Kracker, as the party plans to formally nominate Donald Trump for president.

Kracker believes that stands in stark contrast.

"The Democratic Party has sort of devolved into chaos," with some calling for President Biden to step out of the race, while others are backing the incumbent.

Kracker says the selection of delegates is different between Democrats and Republicans. While Democrats are chosen at the ballot box, Kracker says Republicans hold conventions by Congressional district, with local leadership in each congressional district gathering to consider individuals for delegate and alternate spots.

Kracker says he anticipates hearing who Trump will choose as his running mate Tuesday night, with that person speaking Wednesday night.

WBEN will air convention coverage live each night at 10 p.m. ET.
