Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - As of July 13 the USPS has raised the price of stamps to 78 cents. That's a 5 cent increase from where they were previously. The Postal Service raised the price to keep financial stability.
But how many people know the price of a stamp? Some Western New Yorkers were surprised to find out.
"I think that they are getting to be too high," one person tells WBEN. "I think it's sad because not a lot of people are going to use the post office anymore.
When asked about the new price she guessed the price was 60 cents. Others that spoke with WBEN guessed around $1 for the price of stamps.
On person felt that with the way technology is, most people won't use stamps in the future.
"I think no one really buys stamps anymore anyway, so the price doesn't have much of an effect."
