Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo St. Patrick's Day parade has been canceled again as a result of continuing concerns and precautions stemming from the COVID pandemic.
"The United Irish American Association, organizers of the annual parade, says they have made the difficult decision to cancel the Buffalo Saint Patrick's Day Parade scheduled for Sunday, March 14th on Delaware Avenue.
"We take very seriously our responsibility to help flatten the corona virus curve to keep our community safe," the association said on their website.
The annual parade has been a signature Spring event since 1940 and organizers are hoping for a great return in 2022.
In making the announcement, the association states, "We are happy to be working with the City of Buffalo and County of Erie during this global health pandemic. We are looking forward to having the flag of Ireland raised with our great American Flag again this March in front of City Hall."
