More on-and-off rain, fall-like temps Monday

Scattered showers, thunderstorms and even waterspouts possible

Fall-like weather carries into the work week.

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Sunday brought some classic WNY weather, with heavy rain and thunderstorms one minute, then sunshine the next, followed by more rain. Forecasters say Monday will be more of the same.

National Weather Service meteorologist Dave Thomas says the weather machine will be "off-and-on" Monday.

"Especially for areas south of Buffalo because we'll have a little bit of a lake effect component. Those hills south of Buffalo will be more on than off there as far as rain showers go, and maybe even a thunderstorm for today."

WBEN meteorologist Aaron Mentkowski says we may even see some waterspouts over Lake Erie while temperatures will remain fall-like.

Highs will only reach the mid-60s Monday with rain clearing out Tuesday afternoon and temperatures returning to the 70s.
