Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WBEN) - Niagara Falls Police are investigating a crash involving one of their cruisers that occurred Tuesday night.
According to Niagara Falls Police, Officer John Claps, a six-year member of the department, was traveling on Niagara Falls Boulevard near the entrance of the I-190 Southbound when he was struck by a 2020 Chevy Tahoe.
Officer Claps, 33, was taken to ECMC to be evaluated for a head injury.
The driver of the Tahoe, a 20-year-old Niagara Falls resident, was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and treated for leg pain.
The department's Crash Investigation Unit is handling the investigation and will determine if any charges will be filed.
