Buffalo, NY (WBEN) State Senator Rob Ortt is among those celebrating the groundbreaking of the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) project.
"Today’s groundbreaking on the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) project is a huge win for New York State and a vital step toward expanding and securing our energy future. I’d like to thank President Donald Trump, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and all of the members of the Administration who cut through years of red tape to move this project forward and ensure clean, affordable, and reliable energy for New Yorkers. Together, we are working to expand smart, safe, and sensible energy choices to lower utility bills for taxpayers," says Ortt.
But Ortt notes it will not go through Western New York. "The project is not something WNY is going to see, it's certainly a big issue in New England and Long Island," says Ortt. He says it's unclear if WNY will benefit from the project as far as a reduction in utility bills.
