Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Buffalo man has been charged with multiple gun-related felonies after shooting himself in the leg.
Buffalo Police say 36-year-old Angelo Ruffino of Buffalo arrived at Kenmore Mercy Hospital shortly after 8 p.m. August 12 with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Ruffino told officers the shooting happened in the area of Hertel Avenue and Military Road.

Officers obtained a search warrant for Ruffino's home in the first block of Sunset Street and for his vehicle. From the home, police recovered an AR-15 style rifle with a telescopic sight, two high-capacity magazines and two loaded, defaced handguns. Police were also able to determine the shooting happened in Ruffino's vehicle.
Ruffino faces the following charges:
- Two counts of 2nd degree Criminal Possession of Weapon (felony)
- Two counts of 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a weapon (felony)
- One count of Criminal Possession of an Assault Weapon (felony)
- One count of 1st degree Failure to Safely Store Firearms (misdemeanor)
