Orchard Park, NY (WBEN) - The Rolling Stones will not be rocking Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park when they go back on tour this fall.

The legendary band was originally scheduled to play Western New York in June of 2020, but that was postponed because of Covid pandemic restrictions. On Thursday, the Rolling Stones announced the tour has been rescheduled for this upcoming fall, but Highmark Stadium was not listed as one of the dates.

The band tweeted a statement saying that they were not able to reschedule every date on their tour, and those who had been holding on to tickets would be contacted by Ticketmaster for a refund.

Morning guy Rob Lucas from Star 102.5 thinks there were two factors. Stadium availability and the closed border.

"When I looked at the cities that made the list, Buffalo would have been the smallest market. But Buffalo is not the smallest market when you include Toronto and Southern Ontario. So I wonder if they were looking at what's happening with the border and the fact that they can't guarantee Canadians could come over. That could be an even bigger issue than stadium availability."

Regarding refunds, Lucas says hopefully you didn't go through a 2nd, 3rd or 4th person seller. "The thing about ticketing now," Lucas says, "is that you're never going to get back service fees. If you bought five tickets, your ticketing fees at the end could add up to a hundred dollars."
