Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The Buffalo Sabres are on ice until Monday, as two players enter the NHL's COVID19 protocol. Taylor Hall and Rasmus Ristolainen entered teh protocol Tuesday.
"Sabres players and staff have been closely following and will continue to follow the COVID protocols as outlined by the NHL and the team’s medical staff," says the Sabres in a statement Tuesday. "Our organization will continue to work with the league and our medical team to ensure the health and safety of our players and staff."
Tuesday's game vs. the New York Islanders had been postponed in part because of the weather, keeping the Sabres from getting to New York in time for contact tracing and COVID testing before the scheduled 6pm faceoff.
The Sabres split a weekend series with New Jersey. Five Devils players entered COVID19 protocol, with that team now having a total of 14.
The next scheduled Sabres game is Feb. 11.
