Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon is expected to make a major campaign announcement on his 100th day in office serving as Buffalo Mayor.
The "Friends of Christopher P. Scanlon" announced that it has raised more that $564,000 in the last filing period, with over $490,00 raised within the past 75 days. On Wednesday, the committee reported $555,220 cash-on-hand in Jan. 15th campaign finance report. that was filed with the New York State Board of Elections.
"I am truly humbled by the overwhelming support that I have received from so many members of our community - from the warm and enthusiastic welcomes to the kind introductions and remarks, to the offers of volunteer help in pursuit of our mutually shared goal to create a brighter future for the city we all love. I am incredibly thankful," stated Scanlon. "I remain excited, optimistic, and deeply honored to be Mayor, and I look forward to continuing our work to build a City of Buffalo that is safe, healthy, and strong."
Within this filing period, there were 1,074 contributions to the Scanlon's campaign, with 68% of contributors giving $250 or less, and 97% of contributions coming from supporters who live and work in Buffalo/Western New York.
Scanlon is expected to make the announcement of Wednesday, Jan. 22nd.
