Grand Island, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Erie County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Grand Island man following an investigation into illegal marijuana sales out of two smoke shop businesses in the town.

Led by the Erie County Sheriff's Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, search warrants were signed by Judge Mark Nemeth and executed by officials at the Island Smoke Shop at 2423 Grand Island Boulevard, as well as Island Smoke Shop 2 at 1734 Grand Island Boulevard.


As a result of the investigation and search warrants, a large amount of cannabis concentrate, cannabis edibles and cannabis flower were recovered at both locations.

Additionally, a large amount of U.S. Currency, believed to be from illegal marijuana sales, was also recovered and seized.

23-year-old Thomas Muscoreil was arrested and is facing two counts of Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the Second Degree (Class "E" felony).

Muscoreil was processed and released on a Desk Appearance Ticket.

The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, as well as other State agencies assisted with the investigation.
