Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - A silver alert has been issued by the Town of Tonawanda police department and the Erie County Sheriff's Office for a missing 77-year-old man believed to be suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.

The search is on for Melvin Williams, who last seen at Safire Rehab at 2799 Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda.

Williams reportedly has Alzheimer's Disease, dementia and related cognitive disorders.

Police described Williams as Black about 5-foot-5 and weighing approximately 130 pounds.

Williams has black hair and gray eyes.

Williams was last seen wearing a gray t-short with a black button-down shirt and another gray short. He was also wearing a green and black jacket and carrying a black and blue bag.
