Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - People can get a sneak peek at the long awaited Ralph Wilson Centennial Park along the Buffalo waterfront this weekend.
From 1 p.m.-to-3 p.m. on Saturday, residents will be able to see the work that has been done on the site of the former LaSalle Park and walk across the new pedestrian bridge that spans the I-190. The event is free, but registration is requested HERE.
"I think right now most people in Buffalo have no idea how significant this transformation is," said executive director of the Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy Katie Campos. "In five years, I guarantee that when people talk about Buffalo they will be talking about Ralph Wilson Park."
Campos said construction of the park, which began in 2023, is not expected to be complete until early 2028.
A playground along 4th Street will open Saturday, and will remain open for the public as construction continues.
