Three weeks after State Education Commissioner Betty Rosa paid a visit to Buffalo and said she was assigning an advisor and a team to work with the district, due to recent turmoil, school board members say there is no advisor in place.
That update was provided to WBEN from board members Larry Scott and Erik Bohen Thursday.
No state representatives have come to Buffalo since the resignation of Superintendent Pascal Mubenga and sexual harassment allegations against board member Muki Hawkins.
Mubenga resigned on July 13. The first public allegations and notice of claim against school board member Hawkins were filed shortly after, on July 16.
"On the record, I will tell you that I haven't heard a thing about that," said board member Erik Bohen. "No one has contacted me about what that entails. You know as much about that as I do," he added.
Larry Scott shared something similar.
"I have had no contact with that person. There has been no correspondence. That person was not at the board meeting and has not been involved in any decision making that I've seen to this point," he said.
State Assemblyman Jon Rivera this week proposed a "monitor" to oversee the controversy-laden district.
Rivera said parents, and the public, have lost confidence in the school board.
The first day of school for students in Buffalo is September 3, two weeks away.
