Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - New York State Police has arrested a teen in connection with a gun-pointing incident on the roads. Troopers say he ran off during a recent traffic stop.
The Troop A Community Stabilization Unit arrested 18-year-old Kacuol Chol of Buffalo for Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and Menacing with a Weapon.
Troopers say they observed a vehicle traveling with four males in the backseat without seatbelts; two males were observed pointing possible toy firearms out the window at other vehicles.
A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle. After the traffic stop, one backseat passenger who wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, later identified as Chol, fled the scene.
Chol was apprehended after a foot pursuit, as he was in possession of a loaded Glock 43X handgun with a high-capacity magazine in his waistband.
Chol was taken into custody and transported to SP Buffalo for processing, then transported to the Buffalo lockup for arraignment.
