Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Come Memorial Day weekend, The Juicery at the Hatch in the Erie Basin Marina along the Buffalo waterfront will open up once again. The operator says there'll also be new life for the former William K's immediately next door.

For Angelo Canna, this is the second year for his operation at the popular waterfront eatery location. He says people are more relaxed now that COVID restrictions are gone. "It's a great feeling that people are coming out. And Memorial Day is a great weekend to open," says Canna.

One thing that will be new on the menu: live entertainment. "More bands maybe on the weekends," notes Canna. He says it's a great time of year as people come out. "It's fun. hamburgers and hotdogs. Once you put those together with ice cream, there's a lot of smiles," adds Canna.

As for the former William K's next door, Canna says he's working with a partner on what will now be known as Lake House. "We're partnering up with Brian Mietus from Bacchus. We should be open July 15," anticipates Canna. Until then, Lake House is only doing private events.

Canna expects a successful summer. "We've never had trouble getting people down there. It's just the weather permitting," says Canna. The Juicery at the Hatch will be open seven days a week from 11am till 9pm through Labor Day Weekend.
