Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - New York State Police executed a search warrant on Wednesday at a Tonawanda residence, where officials found a number of illegal weapons and suspected child porn files.
Trooper James O'Callaghan tells WBEN on Friday that State Police arrested John Yungbluth, 37, of Tonawanda and charged him with the following:
- Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (Class "D" felony);
- Criminal Possession of Weapon in the First Degree (Possession of more than 10 assault weapons) (Class "B" felony);
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Possession of two unregistered/loaded firearms) (Class "C" felony);
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Possession of large capacity ammunition feeding device) (Class "D" Felony).
O'Callaghan says troopers executed a search warrant at the Tonawanda residence, locating over 30 pieces of computer evidence that will be examined for child pornography, and additionally located a total of 13 assault weapons that were not registered and unlawfully possessed.
Additional illegally possessed items included over 85 large capacity ammunition feeding devices.
Yungbluth does have a valid New York State pistol permit with multiple handguns registered to him, but was found to be in possession of two handguns not registered in New York State.
Yungbluth was transported to Erie County Holding Center for centralized arraignment. He was then was transported to SP Clarence for processing without incident. Bail was set at $25,000 or $50,000 bond.
