Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A woman is accused of driving juveniles around Buffalo to cause vandalism on numerous occasions.
Buffalo Police say they responded to a hit and run call on Deaborn in August, finding five vehicles damaged by rocks, causing hundreds of dollars in damage Then last month police responded four separate vandalism incidents at the Terrace at Delaware Park, with destruction of windows and furniture resulting in thousands of dollars in damage.
On October 16, 2025, D district officers responded to the Tops Elmwood Plaza on Elmwood Avenue after they say a group of unknown subjects removed garbage from a dumpster in the plaza and threw the trash around the lot.
Detective say the same suspect was wanted for her involvement in all of them.
Police say they cracked the case yesterday when they returned to the Tops Elmwood Plaza for a Juvenile Trouble call. That's where they found two 11-year-old girls causing a problem and refusing to leave the store. Juveniles told officers they were waiting to be picked up. Officers recognized the driver who pulled up as the suspect in these cases.
Police say 39 year old Stacy Matthews of Buffalo drove juveniles from 10 to 16 to the locations and while the juveniles were in her care, custody, and control, allowed for them to vandalize the properties and vehicles. She faces numerous counts including 21 counts of child endangerment and two counts of criminal mischief.
