Your dog could get paid $100 an hour to eat peanut butter

Let’s be honest, dogs are freeloaders, and while we love them, it may be time for them to get a job and stop hanging around the house.

That being said, the natural pet wellness company Honest Paws is looking to fill some canine ambassador roles that pay up to $100 an hour. The only catch: they have to love peanut butter.

According to a news release from the company, Honest Paws is looking to promote its new peanut butter, and it wants dogs to do so at parks, pet stores, and other dog-friendly venues.

To qualify, dogs should have big personalities, a passion for all-natural treats, “bark-tastic” social skills, and a tail that won’t stop wagging.

“Drooling is allowed,” the company added.

While your dog will be the one working the job, they will need help, as the gig involves working as treat testers at live events held by Honest Paws. Humans will be required to help at events, opening peanut butter jars and completing other difficult tasks.

If your dog has “the ability to keep your cool when a squirrel runs by,” the company views it as an added plus.

If we’re being honest, the money may not be appealing to our furry friends. However, Honest Paws highlighted that it is also offering some better benefits, as dogs will receive an endless supply of the company’s peanut butter, frequent scratches, and belly rubs, the release said.

The job opening comes as experts have warned against feeding dogs peanut butter that contains xylitol, a sugar-free substitute that is extremely toxic to pets.

Honest Paws has created its product free from the artificial sweetener so that puppies can indulge in the good stuff without worry.

This is a bonus, as the American Kennel Club says that eating peanut butter in moderation can be an added source of protein, healthy fats, niacin, and vitamins B and E.

As for the position, all breeds are being considered, and applications are due by Sept. 1.
