A New Year's Eve black tie gala and the first-ever mayoral inauguration at Kleinhans Music Hall highlight events leading up to Mayor-elect Sean Ryan officially taking office on Jan. 1.
The inauguration events begin with a black tie, New Year's Eve gala - beginning at 8 p.m. - in the Hotel Lafayette on Washington Street.
Highlights include a midnight balldrop and fireworks display.
Tickets are $150 person and include cocktails, carving station and appetizers and live music from the Uptown Groove.
Proceeds benefit the Ryan-created Buffalo Community Improvement Fund Inc., that will allocate funds to charitable organizations operating within the City of Buffalo.
On New Year's Day, Ryan will be officially inaugurated at a noon ceremony scheduled for Kleinhans Music Hall. Ryan will be Buffalo's first mayor to inaugurated at Kleinhans.
Ryan will be sworn into office by Judge Anthony Brindisi , a federal judge from the North District of New York.
Brindisi and Ryan served together in the state Assembly.
Following the ceremony, Ryan will host a reception in the Mary Seaton Room before he heads to Buffalo City Hall to begin his first official day as mayor.
