If a 2020 presidential election do-over was held today, who would you vote for?

A new survey indicates that former President Donald Trump would beat President Joe Biden by a six-point margin.

The results of a national telephone and online survey of 1,000 people by Rasmussen Reports shows that 43% of those polled would vote for Trump, 37% would vote for Biden and 14% would vote for some other candidate.

In November 2020, Biden beat Trump by a margin of 51.3% to 46.8%.

The survey, which apparently sampled more Democrats than Republicans, showed that more women and Blacks would vote for Trump today than did in 2020, the Washington Examiner reported.

While the poll shows that Trump may have more favor today, a majority of those surveyed said they do not regret their vote in the 2020 election. Of those who are second guessing their decision, 4% are Republicans and 9% are Democrats.

Two other surveys out this week show that Biden's approval rating  has fallen below 50% for the first time in his presidency.

Overall approval averages measured by FiveThirtyEight and RealClearPolitics show Biden fell below the halfway mark on Monday after the president's speech regarding the fallout from the Taliban's takeover of the Afghan government.

FiveThirtyEight noted Biden's rating hit 49.9% on Monday before continuing to fall to 49.3% on Wednesday.

RealClearPolitics, which uses different polling methods, showed Biden's approval dropped to 49.4% Tuesday before a slight pickup Wednesday landed at 49.6%.

Since taking over as commander-in-chief, Biden's approval has fluctuated above 50% to just under 56%. To compare, Trump averaged an approval rating of 40-45% all four years, while former President Barack Obama stayed in the 45-50% range.
