Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A little wind and snow won't be stopping the 130th running of the YMCA Turkey Trot come Thursday morning.
It will be more the wind than the snow that will have an impact on runners.
"Maybe a flurry or two," said WKBW-TV meteorologist Aaron Mentkowski. "The heaviest snows will fall as most people are sleeping, but as you're running, the wind is going to be tough."
Certainly not enough to stop a Thanksgiving race in Buffalo.
"There will be zero delay, there will be zero issues with the course," said Paul Stockman with the YMCA. "We are making sure everything is in good shape come tomorrow morning because we know that this is the 130th consecutive race and you don't run this race, especially in the City of Buffalo, without having a plan in place."
And there's good reason the race goes no matter the weather. Thursday is a crucial day to keeping the YMCA going.
"This is our largest fundraiser," Stockman said. "This helps with our overnight camps, this helps with swim lessons, this helps with our access for all program. This goes into so many different programs that we use."
The Turkey Trot starts at 9 a.m. on Delaware and Tacoma Avenues, then goes South through Niagara Square, and continues South on Delaware Avenue to Church Street. Runners then turn left on Church to Franklin Street, then again just past Court Street to the finish line.
