A quick blast of cold will hit you in the face early Friday, before temperatures rebound to more seasonal highs Friday and Saturday, then another round of below normal temperatures arrive to begin the new week.
After a frigid Friday start, and despite sunny skies, temperatures will remain below normal, only reaching from near 20 to near 30 for most locations.
"Everyone is at least in the single digits, and a few locations are actually below zero," National Weather Service meteorologist Dave Thomas says, to start the day Friday.
Not quite as cold for the Friday night forecast, with temperatures dipping to the low teens to mid 20's for most of the area.
"We're going to be going up to, actually the freezing mark tomorrow," Thomas says, with some light snow expected across the region.
"On Sunday we'll actually have a little more widespread snow," Thomas notes, adding, "Not much snow on Saturday, but Sunday could add up to a couple of inches."
Will the Sunday snow impact the Bills-Bengals game in Orchard Park, with kickoff at 1 p.m.?
"The bulk of the snow is going to be falling during the afternoon and evening hours...this will be widespread, light snow."
The frigid air returns with another cold front late Sunday, forecasters say.
"We're looking for highs Monday barely making it out of the teens," Thomas says. "And then Monday night, right back down to the single digits to below zero."
