With a soggy Tuesday in the rearview mirror, we can thank a weather pattern shift for a return to dry conditions across the Buffalo-Niagara region, however it all comes at the expense of the warmer temperatures we've been accustomed to.
The coolest temperatures of the fall so far have arrived in Western New York. Highs Wednesday will only reach into the 50's to lower 60's, then will not make it out of the 50's on Thursday.
But the real story is just how cool things will get at night.
"Expect some frost tonight," 7 Weather and WBEN meteorologist Aaron Mentkowski tells us. A Frost Advisory is posted for the Buffalo metro area and most of WNY Wednesday night. "I'm sure they're going to issue a Frost Advisory for Friday morning as well."
The Frost Advisory Wednesday night covers all of WNY, with the exception of Niagara and Orleans counties.
"We're expecting lows in the low to mid 30's," National Weather Service meteorologist Aaron Reynolds tells WBEN.
Reynolds says frost is a possibility in the city, however it will be much more likely in suburban and rural areas.
For the remainder of the week, dry conditions are in the forecast, and Reynolds says a gradual warming trend is expected for the weekend.
