Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - There's no sign of winter setting in just yet in the Northeast as chilly spells will be brief and likely overshadowed by rebounding warmth through at least the middle of the month, AccuWeather long-range Meteorologists say.

Temperatures have been running 1-6 degrees above the historical average since the official start of Autumn in late September.

"For the next seven to 10 days at least, warm days will outnumber chilly ones, relative to the historical average," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said, "This means that when all the days are tallied up, temperatures will be several degrees above that historical average, which is slowly trending downward during November."

High pressure over the Upper Great Lakes will drift over our forecast area to provide us with cool, but largely fair weather through Sunday, National Weather Service forecasters say. As the Buffalo Bills host the Miami Dolphins Sunday, and after a cold morning start, temperatures will rebound into the 50's for much of the region.

A warm front will push through the area Sunday night with a few showers while also ushering in the next round of late season warmth. High temperatures in the upper 50's to mid 60's are in the forecast Monday, and for Election Day Tuesday, mainly dry conditions and temps as high as 75 are expected.

A more 'active' weather pattern is in the forecast Wednesday through Friday.

A new weather system will bring a modest shot of cooler air into our region for the end of the work week and start of next weekend, which should result in highs pulling back closer to, but still remaining a little bit above normal.
