Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Mother Nature cooperated with fair weather for some of the major pre-Independence Day fireworks displays Wednesday evening, and conditions will be only better for the Fourth of July.
While there will be some clouds at times Thursday, otherwise fair weather for the Fourth of July holiday is expected, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service in Buffalo. "Fairly typical mid-summers heat today with highs in the 80s," NWS meteorologists say. "Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 70s this evening."

Independence Day and evening will feature dry, but still very warm and humid conditions. Another system will bring more showers and thunderstorms Friday night and Saturday.

For the extended holiday weekend, warm weather is expected Friday, with highs approaching 90 along the Lake Erie shoreline in the Buffalo area and across the Genesee Valley. There will be an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and night.
Saturday will be breezy, with southwest winds gusting over 30 mph in spots. The Buffalo-Niagara region should be rain-free and cooler with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
High pressure will bring fair and generally pleasant weather to the region with comfortable humidity levels and lots of sunshine Sunday.
