Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The run of sunny, warm and dry weather that has been welcomed for Memorial Day weekend picnics and activities won't come to an end with the weekend.

"High pressure will remain firmly in place across the Great Lakes through the week...allowing for continued fair, dry weather and mid-summerlike warmth," say the forecasters at the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

If you liked Saturday and Sunday, Memorial Day will be a repeat with summer-like temperatures in the 80's along with the continued clear and dry conditions.

There is little change to the forecast as the abbreviated work week unfolds too. "Mid summer-like temperatures will dominate the period," NWS forecasters say. "Highs in the lower to mid 80s for both Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday looking to be the warmest day of the period with mid to upper 80s. Daily lake breezes keeping the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario shores cooler."

There is a slight chance of spotty showers late Friday and the coming weekend may be slightly cooler, forecasters say.
