The spectacular summer weather that kicked off the weekend Friday will extend into Saturday, National Weather Service forecasters say.
High pressure will exit across New England and out to sea today,
providing our area with dry and seasonably warm weather.
But there will be a hiccup that impacts the Buffalo-Niagara region in the middle of the weekend, late Saturday and early Sunday.
After another day of dry, sunny conditions and highs in the 80's, a cold front will then bring another round of showers and scattered thunderstorms tonight and Sunday morning. Some of the storms may be severe and contain strong wind gusts and downpours, forecasters say.
Showers will linger Sunday morning, followed by clearing and relatively cooler, and less humid conditions prevailing and a high around 80.
Temperatures Monday and Monday night in particular will average some 5-10 degrees below normal for mid to late July, topping out around 75 degrees.
Another round of heat and humidity is in the long range forecast beginning Thursday and Friday.
