A weather system churning through the region will make its presence felt Sunday, first with wind, then with rain, and with continued temperatures above normal through the end of the weekend.

Most of the day Sunday will be dry and windy, with rain developing from west to east late this afternoon through tonight.

One more warm day Sunday, National Weather Service forecasters say, ahead of the showers as the region is firmly within the warm zone of a low pressure system. High temperatures for Sunday for most areas will reach the low to upper 70's.

Beneficial rain will overspread the Buffalo-Niagara region late Sunday afternoon and into the overnight and Monday, with some thunderstorms possible in some locations.

Showers will extend into the new work week Monday, and it will be windy with gusts 30-35 mph across much of the region, along with sharply cooler temperatures with highs in mainly in the 50's.
