"A cold weekend will continue with below normal temperatures and gusty winds producing a notable wind chill through tonight," say forecasters at the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

How cold?

"Blustery day with west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 30-40 mph this morning dropping to 20-30 mph by afternoon. High temperatures will reach the upper 20s to low 30s with wind chills in the single digits to teens."

The Winter Weather Advisory that had been in place for the southtowns and southern tier has been canceled as the chance of significant measurable snow has diminished.

The spell of wintry weather will be short lived with milder temperatures and dry weather expected to return early next week.
