Another round of winter for much of WNY

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Bitter cold temperatures have overspread Western New York and lake effect snow is impacting much of the extreme southern and northern portions of the region through early Tuesday.

Winter Weather Advisories are posted for southern Erie County and the southern tier counties as lake effect snow could accumulate as much as 8 inches through early Tuesday. A Winter Weather Advisory is also posted for Niagara and Orleans counties late Monday into Tuesday.


WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST TUESDAY
* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 7 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact this evenings commute.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 4 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
