OPINION: If the Democrats take the Senate next week, will they pack the courts?

Senate Republicans were successful in pushing through the U.S. Supreme Court nomination for Amy Coney Barrett in less time than expected.

The series of moves, which contradicted the actions by the GOP during the nomination process of Merrick Garland, leaves many pundits speculating what might the Democrats' agenda be if they take over control of the Senate next year?

Two key seats for that to become a reality are represented by the Carolinas. Democrat challenger Cal Cunningham holds a lead over Republican incumbent Thom Tillis in the final week of the race. This after Cunningham was caught up and admitted his wrongdoing in a sex scandal with a woman who wasn't his wife.

The other is the most-contested seat in the nation with record amounts of money pouring into the palmetto state to fund both campaigns. Democrat Jaime Harrison has not only stood his ground against Lindsey Graham, but has a lead in several polls going toe-to-toe trying to overthrowing the Republican.

Harrison has not only picked a fair amount of donations in the process. South Carolina's oldest newspaper, The State, endorsed the Democrat leader to take over the seat occupied by less-than-productive Graham over the past 17 years.

The vision for the "New south" against the "Good Old days of segregation" is what the SC race has boiled down to, a pivotal time for not only the state, but the nation as a whole.

If elected with a democratic majority in the senate, would Cal or Jaime be in-favor of court packing?
