2020 Election: Key races and results in New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — The Associated Press is projecting that Democrat Joe Biden has won the presidential race in New Jersey.

New Jersey Democrat Cory Booker has defeated Republican Rik Mehta for a second full term in the U.S. Senate.

The Associated Press projects Democrats Bonnie Watson Coleman, Mikie Sherrill, Bill Pascrell, Donald Norcross and Josh Gottheimer will win their congressional races; Republican Christopher Smith is also expected to win reelection to the U.S. House in New Jersey's 4th Congressional District.

In the 3rd District race, freshman Democrat Andy Kim beat Republican David Richter, and in the 7th District, Democratic freshman Rep. Tom Malinowski beat Republican Tom Kean Jr.

Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew is trying to win a second term against Democrat Amy Kennedy. Van Drew drew national attention in December when he left the Democratic Party for the GOP because he opposed impeaching Trump.

Meanwhile, voters have approved recreational marijuana.
