
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An attack that started on a Queens subway train early Wednesday ended with a 50-year-old man being punched and hit with a "wet floor" sign.

According to police, the victim was onboard the northbound R train at the Jackson Avenue and Queens Boulevard subway station around 12:15 a.m. when the suspect threw an unknown object at him.
After both of the men exited the train, the victim followed the man to the mezzanine level, where the attacker repeatedly punched the victim in the face.
Police said the assailant then struck the victim with a wet floor sign, resulting in minor cuts and swelling to the face and lips.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.
