NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Baseball is back and New York Mets fans will have plenty to enjoy at Citi Field this season.
WCBS 880 traffic reporter and longtime Mets fan Tom Kaminski visited the Queens ballpark on Thursday to see what fans can expect at the Queens ballpark.
The first thing fans will notice when they walk into the ballpark is a brand new lineup of cutting-edge, high-definition screens all throughout the stadium thanks to a new partnership with Samsung Electronics America that in 2023 will also bring a dynamic new centerfield scoreboard.

Fans will also be greeted with a new memorabilia shop on the lower level of Citi Field.
"Now if you had been to Citi Field previously, especially in the early years, the memorabilia shop was a couple of folding tables and this memorabilia shop is amazing," Kaminski said. "Now you can buy game-used merchandise, and the incredible part is that you can buy game-used merchandise from the game you're actually at. Every three innings the inventory gets updated, so it is really something to see."

As for the food options, Kaminski said a lot of the old favorites are there including Shake Shack and the Alonso Arctic Grill, which is now offering the Polar Burger 2.0.
New to the ballpark is Pig Beach BBQ.
"These guys are originally from the Gowanus section of Brooklyn, they've opened up another location in addition to Citi Field, they are right in Astoria, and I tried a burger there and I tried what they call Bases Loaded Fries which are fries, pulled pork, cheese sauce, jalapenos and a vinegar barbecue sauce," Kaminski said. "So I don't have to eat anything now for the rest of the day."

There will also be plenty of giveaways the fans can look forward to this season, including a special Polar Bear Pete Alonso bobble head.
