Man, 30, killed, another injured in Bronx double shooting: NYPD

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are investigating a double shooting on a Bronx street on Tuesday that left a 30-year-old dead and another wounded, authorities said.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of shots fired in front of the Bronx County Hall of Justice located at 281 East 161st Street in Concourse Village.

Upon arrival, officers observed two men with gunshot wounds.

According to officials, 30-year-old Derrick Owens suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.

A second 30-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

The victims were twin brothers, the Daily News reported.

There have been no arrests made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
