NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Two nightclubs operating illegally amid the pandemic were busted in Queens and the Bronx over the weekend.

According to police, there were more than 400 people inside the Bronx nightclub and over 225 inside the Queens location.

The New York City Sherriff’s office said deputies entered the Bronx building at Westchester and Zerega avenues in the Parkchester section of the borough just before midnight on Saturday.

Authorities say there were hundred of people inside the building, including children and infants but, the sheriff’s office did not say what type of event was being held.

Two people were arrested for violating coronavirus emergency measures at that location.

One day later, the sheriff’s office was called to an illegal gathering on Roosevelt Avenue in the Elmhurst section of Queens.

The sheriff’s office say the building did not have a liquor license and was in violation of multiple health codes.

At least three people were charged with multiple offenses in that event.

The busts come one month after the NYC Sheriff Office busted the illegal bottle club in Rosedale on Dec. 20.

In that case, there were over 160 people at the club on 243rd Street.

Photos from both Queens events show hundreds of people gathered closely together, drinking and socializing without any face masks on. People were gathered closely, but wearing masks inside the Bronx nightclub.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday noted that the Bronx and Queens have the two highest rates of transmission in the five boroughs.
