NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was killed when she crashed into a wall after having suffered from a medical episode over the weekend in Queens, police said Monday.
At approximately 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, police responded to a 911 call of a collision in the vicinity of 112th Avenue and the Cross Island Parkway in Cambria Heights.
A preliminary investigation determined that 76-year-old Rose Winsome was traveling eastbound on 112th Avenue when she apparently suffered a medical episode causing her to collide with a wall.
Winsome suffered severe head and torso trauma.
EMS responded and transported the motorist to North Shore University Hospital where she was subsequently pronounced dead.
There were no other vehicles involved and no other injuries reported regarding this incident.
The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
