Sun Country Airlines will offer 19 new seasonal routes starting this spring, eight of them from the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport.
“Today is a very exciting day in the history of Sun Country as we make this tremendous step forward in growing our airline,” said Sun Country Airlines CEO Jude Bricker. “This network expansion allows us to provide even more destination options to our community, create new jobs in the Twin Cities market and further our reach across the country.”
Bricker said this is the budget airline largest addition of routes in the company’s history. In a statement the company said these new routes are part of an overall growth plan that includes aircraft growth and increase the company’s Twin Cities workforce by 10 percent in 2019. The additional eight routes from MSP will be a nearly 20 percent increase in destinations the airline offers.
“I think it’s important for the Twin Cities, we’re hiring 160 or so to support this growth,” said Jude Bricker, CEO of Sun Country Airlines. “It’s just good to see a local company growing and continue to offer more services for the Twin Cities.”
