Chaska police have completed their investigation of the drowning deaths of two young women in an incident that shocked the Twin Cities Somali community

Police say the two 19-year olds were riding in a car that took a turn too fast, causing the vehicle to leave the road and end up in the pond near Highway 41 and White Oak Drive.

Zeynab Abdalla and Bushra Abdi of Shakopee were killed, their deaths ruled accidental drownings.

Police say Abdalla, who was likely driving the vehicle, did not have a driver's license or a permit.

Abdi had her driving permit.

Investigators say the bodies were found outside of the vehicle in the pond, which was nine feet deep.
