Man arrested in Maplewood RV standoff

A 42-year-old man is in custody after a police standoff in Maplewood Wednesday.

Dennis Vann is being held on an outstanding warrant and new charges of fleeing police and threats of violence.

It ended after more than four hours at 9:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of White Bear Avenue when SWAT personnel used an irritating gas inside the RV he was in.

According to Maplewood Police, Vann was erratic and uncooperative and threatened to have an improvised explosive device.

Police were attempting to stop him on the warrant when he barricaded himself in the RV.
