“The comments on those posts do NOT in any way reflect those of the Midtown Global Market,” the company said in a press release. “In fact, they are in direct opposition to the reason Midtown Global Market was created and opened in 2006: to be a shared community space and cultural center that celebrates the diversity of its business owners, guests and visitors.”

Earlier today, Holy Land’s CEO, Majdi Wadi, fired his daughter, Lianne Wadi, after the posts were found, and posted on the company’s Facebook page saying, “As a business that was formed by immigrants, we do not tolerate this type of behavior because it is completely against our beliefs and faith.”

Midtown Global Market also responded to the initial resurfacing of the posts saying, it is "deeply offended and saddened" by the remarks, adding that it does "not tolerate discrimination of any kind."

While Holy Land’s location in the Midtown Global Market has been closed, their primary location in North Minneapolis will not be affected.
