As people loaded buckets of free sand and salt 6036 Harriet Ave., South in Minneapolis, many were thinking of the storm ahead.

“I’m ready for it to be done,” said Heather Sheehan. “It’s a lot of hassle with frozen pipes and sand.”

The National Weather Service who issued a Winter Weather Advisory is predicting three to six inches of snow in the Twin Cities starting Wednesday night.

The unwelcome forecast comes 24 hours after our last snowfall that snarled traffic for hours, turning a 17-mile commute into a two hours torturous drive.

Erin Tyson spent her Wednesday afternoon walking her two dogs around Lake Bde Maka Sak.

‘Are you ready for more snow?’ we asked “No!” she replied. “I’m done shoveling.”

At the free sand and salt pit people talked about their ice-covered sidewalks, patios, and driveways that’s made getting mail challenging.

“I’m pretty tired of the winter. Tired of the snow, tired of the ice,” said Veta Micevic. She also said she’s ready for spring. “Oh yes, I was probably ready two weeks ago.”

The bulk of the snowfall is expected Thursday morning and the NWS is telling motorists to plan on slippery road conditions once again.
